D.C, Philli,Baltimore,Amish Country

We had the opportunity to go on an incredible trip with my parents this spring. Our graduation present from my Mom and Dad was to take us on a trip with them. We were originally going to go to Germany, but then when the volcano in Iceland erupted that changed our plans!  We decided to take a trip to Washington D.C and around the east. This was especially exciting for Kevin who got his degree in Constitutional Studies and loves politics and U.S. history. He had never been to D.C., and was so excited. My Dad had a good point when he stated that he was glad that we were not able to get to Europe because it's important to see the significant sights of your own country!!!!
We had an amazing trip. We started in D.C and went to all the major monuments, spent an afternoon at the Smithsonian, chatted with Congressman Rob Bishop (Kevin knows him well from USU College Republicans.) Then we went to Baltimore and went to an Orioles game, and went to the Aquarium. I love Aquariums, and that was on of the highlights of the trip for me.
After DC and Baltimore we went to Amish Country. We stayed at a beautiful Hotel and drove around the countryside enjoying the scenery and making sure not to get in the way of the Amish in their buggies. We swam in the pool at the hotel and watched the Jazz game in our suite.
Some of my other favorite parts of the trip were when we went to George Washington's home Mt. Vernon and Valley Forge. We ended the trip by going to Philadelphia, eating Philly Cheese Steak's at the place where the sandwich was invented and seeing all the history in that city.
It was a great trip, and so much fun to be with my family there. I love my family so much and I will always remember this trip with them.  I also gained a deeper appreciation for our countries history.
